The Maria Gardens family owned and operated garden centers in Strongsville and North Royalton serving the greater Cleveland area, and with corporate and wholesale offices in Columbia Station has roots 40 years and 3 generations deep. The sprawling, beautiful greenhouses, nurseries and gift shops our customers are familiar with today have humble beginnings in a backyard greenhouse, circa 1970, where founder Dave Stopper Sr. began his enterprise.

We also encourage our customers with pick-up trucks to come in from 8am-8pm Monday through Saturday, and Sunday from 11am-5pm for bulk product pick up.

Many customers visit our nursery in the spring when the displays of color, fragance and flowers are most spectacular. In addition to spring, fall is also a popular time for planting. Our customers can expect to see a colorful display of hardy mums, hydrangeas, hardy hibiscus, butterfly bushes and summersweet, all with discounts below our everyday low prices. A favorite time at Maria Gardens are the Halloween and Christmas season holidays. Along with pumpkins, gourds and cornstalks, the shop has a full line of lights, inflatables, animated & voiced life-like models of ghosts, ghouls, witches & monsters. Children enjoy visiting the nursery where the hay maze is set up every fall. Our Christmas shop begins setting up after Halloween and the cut Christmas tree yard comes to life at Thanksgiving with fresh Frazier, Douglas and Concolor fir, as well as Scotch & White pine and Blue spruce. Live greens of pine roping, wreaths with fir, cedar, juniper, boxwood and holly are found at the entrance to the gift shop and adorn the building. Inside, our customers can choose from over 150 different models of life-like, pre-lit artificial christmas trees of every style and color including L.E.D. The heart and center of Maria Gardens is the greenhouse department managed by owner Tim Stopper, Sr. The greenhouses are consistently cleaned, restocked and plants are continually watered, fertilized, and monitored for pest and diseases. While the plants and products vary as the seasons change, tropical plants and lush, colorful foliage like ferns, ficus, ivy, hibiscus, palms, spider plants and many others are available all year. Flowering favorites like violets, mums, kalanchos, peace lilies, Reiger begonias and dozens of others are also available year round along with our customers' favorite herbs and hardy houseplants like cacti, aloe vera or snake plant. Highlighting the many breathtaking combination planters we offer from spring through summer are the Proven Winner varieties. Customers can also always choose a fuscia, impatiens or geranium hanging baskets from the many colors and varieties available, as well as the thousands of flats of bedding plants and vegetables. Our knowledgeable sales staff is up to date on the latest products for lawns and landscapes. We are fully stocked with repellents for deer, rabbits and moles, control products for insect infestations or fungus problems. We often encourage our customers to bring in plant samples for a professional diagnosis. The focus of our garden center is maintaining healthy lawns and plants. We have in stock hundreds of 4-step lawn programs, as well as pelletized lime, ironite, and several types of grass seed mixtures. Organic fertilizers have steadily become more popular over the last decade. Products like Plant Tone and Holly Tone are always available in any size from 3 lb. to 50 lb. bags. Well balanced with 15 essential elements, they are crucial for plant health and development. Another recent innovation is the emergence of transplant solutions.
